You can choose to sponsor me for one or both charities for whom my activities this year will raise funds.
CF Kids of Portsmouth is a newly-formed local charity. My aim in supporting them is to help them raise £70,000 for a Spirometry Machine, which will reside at the local hospital. This machine monitors lung function and will help those offering medical care at the hospital, spot any reduction and infection at the earliest opportunity. The machine, will greatly aid CF sufferers as well as those with other respiratory problems.
The CF Trust has been working for many years supporting the families of those with CF, ensuring they receive a high level of care and, most importantly, funding research into a cure. Having already isolated the faulty CF gene there is great reason to hope that a cure is within reach and I plan to raise as much money as possible, to contribute towards this research – with a very selfish hope that this breakthrough will come in time for my two lively, boisterous and active nephews, to remain that way and enjoy full and long lives.
