Portsmouth D-Day 10km

I must say, it is great to find an event on a weekday greater than three miles in distance. Obviously, this race enabled me to get some additional miles onto my total but it also turned out to be a pleasant run on a lovely summers evening.

Anyway for someone looking to do their first 10k or looking to do a good time this is definitely the race for you. A small field of runners, A race track start and finish, flat course with gently cooling sea breeze and excellently marshaled two lap course meaning you can be prepared for when to step up for that last push home or just be aware of what you have left to run.

Support team gearing up

The leisure centre and grounds mean it’s also a good location for spectators, family and friends to enjoy a drink and watch you at the start, half way point and finish without having to move themselves from the bar!

Aiden and Morgan and some of my family were here to support me for this race. They screamed with great enthusiasm as I raced by them, which was very encouraging.

What can I say? Organized by the Portsmouth Running club, this is a great little race that is superbly located on the edge of Portsmouth with ample parking.
