Race Blog 13
<< PREVIOUS Sunday 17th June 2007 NEXT >>
Well an event chosen by my three little nephews who love going on ferries.
The race while not having the spectators or the atmosphere of the bigger races it does have the advantage of a smaller field of very good runners and the superb location of running around the quite and beautiful lanes on the Isle of Wight.
The weather was great for the race which is run mainly on flat and undulating country roads. Again due to its relatively small size the roads where not closed off as you would get with larger races but this is by far compensated for by the minimal to non existent traffic you get in the area. Another plus is the very good driving skills of the local motorists who normally expect to come across horses or walkers on the little windy lanes.
The use of the race track makes for a good start and finish for the runners
and spectators.
