‘Take my breath away’ concert raises £3k for charity

Four bands and 300 music lovers raised £3,000 at the Talking Heads in Southampton. The ‘Take My Breath Away’ charity music gig, saw four bands playing everything from modern pop to classic rock, to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis charities.

Organiser and sponsor of the event, Ripple, hosted the evening to celebrate 25 years of doing business. With Ripple having generously secured the venue and the bands, all proceeds made from ticket sales were donated straight to Cystic Fibrosis charities.

David Wolfindon, Ripple’s Managing Director, decided to organise the event and support the charitable cause when he heard about Bryce’s challenge this year. “The challenge Bryce is undertaking is mammoth, yet he is struggling to raise sponsorship. We wanted to find a way to celebrate our 25th anniversary at Ripple and this seemed like such a great way to do it. I’m delighted the evening was such a success and enabled us to raise so much money for such a worthwhile cause.”

The concert called “Take my breath away’ reflected the title Bryce has given his challenge this year, named to highlight how debilitating Cystic Fibrosis is - attacking the lungs and making it difficult for sufferers to breath. The bands also thought it would make a great title for the music concert as it is also the title of the classic, Berlin song.
